Reiza Studios has announced an unexpected content update for Automobilista 2 that brings two distinctly different racing machines to the Brazilian simulator. The update includes an updated Formula Vee Gen2 and the Liger JS P4 endurance racer, adding to the sim’s already impressive roster that includes content like the Aston Martin Valkyrie.
Formula Vee Goes Modern
The Formula Vee Gen2 represents the latest evolution of the popular entry-level open-wheel series. Developed in close collaboration with the real Brazilian Formula Vee championship, this updated version introduces the halo safety device along with a redesigned chassis and suspension setup.
The original Formula Vee in Automobilista 2 has been a favorite for short to medium-length track racing, offering accessible open-wheel competition and close wheel to wheel racing. The Gen2 version maintains that approachable character while bringing the car up to modern safety standards.

The Liger JS P4 Joins the Grid
The second addition is the Liger JS P4, joining its existing stablemate the Ligier JS2-R in AMS2. This endurance racing machine serves an important purpose in real-world motorsport as an accessible entry point for aspiring racers.
Powered by a 3.7-liter Cyclone Ford V6 mounted in the middle, the JS P4 weighs just under 1000kg. According to Reiza, the car was designed specifically for beginners and amateur drivers looking to enter endurance racing in their home countries. Due to its low curb weight, expect a nimble car that’s beginner friendly.
Free Addition to Endurance Pack 3
The JS P4 comes as a late addition to Endurance Pack 3, and importantly, it will be included free for all players who already own that DLC pack. This represents good value for existing content owners and continues Reiza’s pattern of supporting their DLC releases with additional content.
The Bottom Line
These additions showcase Automobilista 2’s commitment to featuring authentic Brazilian motorsport alongside international series. The Formula Vee Gen2 brings a popular local championship up to modern standards, while the Liger JS P4 adds another accessible endurance option to the simulator’s growing roster.
For players looking for approachable racing content, both cars are designed with accessibility in mind – the Formula Vee for open-wheel newcomers and the JS P4 for amateur endurance racing. While sim racing has seen major partnerships like Cosworth and iRacing’s recent deal, Automobilista 2 continues focusing on authentic, grassroots racing experiences. The update should arrive soon, though Reiza hasn’t announced a specific release date. You can check out the formal announcement here.
