Sim-Lab has announced a partnership with legendary British racing firm Cosworth to create a new high end lineup of sim racing products. These products promise to bring the fully carbon fiber wheels to your sim rig, that are nearly identical to the real wheels run in IndyCar and many other series.<\/p>\n
The first products to come from this partnership is the\u00a0 Cosworth Carbon Wheel Mk3 (CCW Mk3). <\/strong><\/em>This isn’t a wheel that’s just inspired by motorsport, it’s based on the actual steering wheels. Cosworth supplies wheel’s to nearly every IndyCar team on the grid in 2025. To many of us who are a bit too engaged in motorsports, this wheel is also incredibly similar to the wheels that are run in most of the 2025 GTP cars .<\/p>\n The 284mm carbon fiber wheel comes loaded with 12 RGB backlit buttons, four backlit rotaries, four thumbwheel encoders, and support for up to six paddles.<\/p>\n In a quote from Cosworth, Paul Newby, Managing Director of Cosworth Electronics said,<\/p>\n “Our latest evolution of the CCW Mk3 steering wheel is the result of extensive collaboration with teams and drivers to ensure it meets the highest standards in ergonomics, customization and race-critical functionality,” .<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n For Sim-Lab CEO Richard Schouteren, the partnership makes perfect sense. “Cosworth’s legacy of engineering excellence fits perfectly with our mission to raise the ceiling for sim racing hardware. Together we will deliver authentic motorsport performance and user-focused design to a wider audience of racers at home.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n For us sim racers, this seems like a massive win. We’ll get more high quality products added to the market, but also ones that are closer than ever to the real cars.<\/p>\n The only question remains is how much will these products cost? No official announcement regarding the price has been made, but we don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect the wheel’s to cost well over 2,000 euros. After all, Simlab’s previous collaboration with Mercedes resulted in a near perfect 1 to 1 replica of the Mercedes W15 wheel. However, that wheel costed 2,699 euros.<\/p>\n The Cosworth Carbon Wheel Mk3 makes its public debut this weekend at SimRacing Expo in Dortmund, Germany, October 17-19.
