Can You Use a Moza Wheel on a Simagic Base?

In a world with so many options and a numerous ecosystems, it’s easy to lose track of what work together. Today we’re going to clear up at least one of those questions. Can your Moza rim work on a Simagic base?
The short answer is yes! But there is far more to it than a simple plug and play.

Both companies use the same D1-spec quick-release, so the wheel slides on and locks like it belongs there. You just have to keep the wheel base and the rim’s power and data pins from touching. We recommend you place some electrical tape on the base side contacts.

But, that setup just means it’s attached to your wheel base, but how do you get power and data to it? You can connect the compatible Moza rims to your PC over USB through Moza’s Universal Hub Kit.

What Are The Limitations?

Now, this method won’t work for all Moza wheel rims. Why you might ask? The Universal hub only supports the FSR Formula Wheel, KS Steering Wheel, TSW Truck Wheel and the Vision GS Wheel. Although all Moza wheels might be able to physically mount to a Simagic wheelbase, the lack of any way to connect them to a PC will make them essentially useless.

If you happen to be looking into one of those, the Universal Hub Kit (normally $59, on sale for $39 as of this writing). The kit includes everything: a short coiled cable from rim to hub, a USB-A lead to the PC, and adhesive mounts if you want the hub on your rig. Plug the rim into the hub, run the hub’s USB cable to your computer, and Windows sees it as a standard game controller.

The Final Step, The Software

To make this whole thing work you’re going to need to fire up Moza Pit House and Simagic SimPro Manager at the same time. Moza Pit House should detect the wheel through the USB hub, so you can adjust LEDs, update firmware, or remap buttons. SimPro handles the wheel base’s force-feedback settings. No ecosystem clashes, no driver conflicts.

And that’s all!

With a simple adapter and a piece of tape you can certainly get any of the Moza wheels shown below working with your Simagic base thanks to the shared quick release system.
