Kunos Simulazioni has teased major content additions for Assetto Corsa EVO, revealing what appears to be the 2025 Ferrari SF-25 Formula 1 car alongside the iconic Monza circuit. The announcement coincides with this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix, where Ferrari is running a special Niki Lauda tribute livery.
Current-Gen F1 Comes to Sim Racing
The teased car shows distinctive 2025 Ferrari characteristics, including unique aerodynamic elements and steering wheel button layout that match the SF-25. While current-specification F1 cars are typically exclusive to EA Sports F1 25, Assetto Corsa has a history with modern Ferrari F1 machines, having featured the SF70H in the original Assetto Corsa.
This SF-25 addition would continue that tradition while representing the most current F1 technology in EVO. The car joins the existing Ferrari F2004 V10, but introduces complex hybrid powertrains that haven’t appeared in the simulator yet. The modern F1 hybrid system combines a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with dual motor generator units for heat and kinetic energy recovery.

Monza Joins Italian Circuit Collection
The Autodromo Nazionale Monza appears further along in development, featuring detailed kerbs, updated branding, and dynamic weather effects. It will join Imola as EVO’s second Italian venue, bringing the confirmed track count to 13 circuits.
The timing ties perfectly with Ferrari’s Niki Lauda tribute livery at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix, celebrating the three-time champion’s 1975 title with the Prancing Horse.
Technical Challenges Ahead
Adding current F1 technology presents unique challenges for Kunos. Modern hybrid powertrains operate differently from anything currently in EVO’s roster, requiring new simulation systems for energy recovery and deployment strategies that define contemporary F1 racing.
No release window has been announced for either addition, which comes as EVO’s 0.3 update introducing online multiplayer continues working through performance issues.
The Bottom Line
Current-generation F1 cars rarely appear in hardcore simulators, making this a significant coup for Assetto Corsa EVO. Combined with Monza’s addition, these updates could provide the definitive modern F1 experience outside of EA’s official games. The real test will be how accurately Kunos captures the complex hybrid systems that make today’s F1 cars unique.
