Project Motor Racing Confirms GTE Preorder Bonus and SimRacing Expo Demo

Project Motor Racing will showcase its most current build at the SimRacing Expo. Not only will attendee’s get to try it out, but there will also be daily multiplayer races. Meanwhile, Straight4 Studios has also confirmed five GTE cars are going to be included in the preorder bonus pack. With the November 25th launch approaching it’s great to see more details about content and competitive features.

Five GTE Cars for Preorder Customers

For those who preorder Project Motor Racing, here are the 5 GTE cars that you will receive.

  • Aston Martin V8 Vantage AMR GTE
  • Chevrolet Corvette C7.R GTE
  • Chevrolet Corvette C8.R GTE
  • Ford GT LM GTE
  • Porsche 911 RSR GTE (2020)

While they never raced together (C8.R replaced C7.R in 2020), the C8.R proved immensely successful with two IMSA titles and the final WEC LMGTE Am championship in 2023.

The Ford GT competed until 2019, taking class wins at Le Mans (2016) and Daytona (2017), while the Porsche 911 RSR raced until 2023’s final GTE season, known partly for its long term success and ear piercing engine note.

More Manufacturers Teased

Straight4’s newsletter lists “And More…” as the final entry, hinting at additional GTE manufacturers. BMW and Ferrari are obvious candidates – BMW fielded the M8 GTE until 2021, while Ferrari competed with the 488 GTE and Evo version from 2017-2023.

The preorder pack will be available separately post-launch, though pricing hasn’t been announced. Steam preorders include the pack despite not being listed on the store page yet.

SimRacing Expo Public Testing

Project Motor Racing will host daily multiplayer races at SimRacing Expo October 17-19 in Dortmund, testing LAN capabilities publicly for the first time. Two competition formats are planned: main stage races with live commentary and streaming, plus creator-focused races on the GIANTS Software stand.

This gives the public hands-on time just over a month before the November 25th launch, following recent reveals about subscription-free multiplayer and competitive structure.

Building Launch Momentum

The GTE content and expo presence demonstrate Straight4’s focused marketing push toward launch. The subscription-free multiplayer model already differentiated PMR from competitors like iRacing and Le Mans Ultimate, while the GTE-focused roster targets a specific endurance racing audience.

The Bottom Line

Project Motor Racing’s GTE lineup captures the final competitive era of the class before WEC transitioned to Hypercars. The C7.R and C8.R pairing is particularly interesting, showcasing Corvette’s historic shift to mid-engine design. With the previous teased content, Project Motor Racing’s future looks to be promising.  The SimRacing Expo demo arrives at perfect timing, close enough to launch for the developers to still be able to polish, but early enough to start building hype. Whether the subscription-free model and focused GTE content is enough to compete against established sims remains unclear, however all will be revealed on November 25th.
